September 26, 2016 by braveskimom

ski fashion 16-17
Three of our favorite 2016-2017 ski fashion looks from WinterWomen.com. Read on to see more!

brave ski mom logoWe’ve got an updated Ski Fashion post for 2017 – 2018. For the latest styles from Obermeyer, Marmot, Patagonia, Burton, Nikita and more, please follow this link!

It’s that ski fashion time of year when the latest and greatest styles for winter make their début.

This is the 6th ski season that we’ve worked with WinterWomen.com to bring you these annual ski fashion highlights. If you love the styles and want to learn (and see) more, please visit the WinterWomen.com website.

Basic White and Black

In this case, “basic” means timeless and classic, bumped up in intensity with to-the-minute styling. Just like the essential Little Black Dress, you can’t go wrong with black and white for ski season.

Sunice Melissa Jacket with Faux Fur

sunice melissa jacket ski
Why we love the Sunice Melissa Jacket: The modern floral print adds feminine interest without being sentimental. Plus, the bold contrast of the fur collar.

Volcom Bristol Jacket and Volcom Hexie Pant

volcom bristol jacket ski
Why we love the Volcom Bristol Jacket and Hexie Pants: The coordinated look from top to bottom and the flattering longer-line fit.

Obermeyer Bombshell Jacket

obermeyer bombshell jacket
Why we love the Obermeyer Bombshell Jacket: The contoured fit, the luxe fabric and the furry hood.

Obermeyer Chamonix Jacket with Obermeyer Monte Bianco Pant

Obermeyer Chamonix Jacket
Why we love the Obermeyer Chamonix Jacket and the Monte Bianco Pant: The slim lines accentuated brilliantly  by the contrast between modern graphics and old-school track suit stripes.

Bold Colors & Classic Prints

Colors come and go (remember neon?). But classic colors and subtle prints, when incorporated into well-made technical jackets, will last you many seasons. Plus, one lifestyle look to keep you warm wherever winter takes you.

Columbia Whirlibird Jacket

columbia whirlibird jacket
Why we love the Columbia Whirlibird Interchange Jacket: The depth of color and the classic Columbia 3-in-1 styling that converts this jacket from super warm to lightweight.

Volcom Bristol Jacket

volcom bristol jacket
Why we love the Volcom Bristol Jacket: The flattering styling, the asymmetrical zipper and the 5-alarm red.

Spyder Fraction Jacket

spyder fraction jacket ski
Why we love the Spyder Fraction Jacket: It’s the best shade of pink ever and the zipper color blocking adds utilitarian interest.

Roxy Jet Ski Premium Jacket

roxy jet ski jacket
Why we love the Roxy Jet Ski Jacket: The fun nature inspired print in sunset/sunrise colors, combined with a flattering fit.

Sunice Naquita Jacket

sunice naquita jacket ski
Why we love the Sunice Naquita Jacket: The abstract print evokes both clouds and waves and makes us want to shred pow in Japan.

Spyder Timeless Long Down Jacket

Spyder Timeless Long Down Jacket
Why we love the Spyder Timeless Long Down Jacket: The flattering chevron styling, and abundant warmth make it an off-slope favorite. And how about those boots? You can find them at WinterWomen.com, too.

Luxe Looks

Because sometimes, you just want to make a statement. And sometimes that statement is sexy — even when you’re skiing.

Spyder Eternity Suit

spyder womens eternity ski suit
Why we love the Spyder Eternity Suit: It’s a retro idea updated with just the right amount of modern edge.
spyder eternity suit
Why we love the Spyder Eternity Suit, part two: It’s just as cute from the back as the front and white makes the black detailing pop.

Obermeyer Bombshell Special Edition Jacket

obermeyer lux bombshell jacket
Why we love the Obermeyer Bombshell Special Edition Jacket: Multi-dimensional color, with just the right amount of shine. Its subtle, but you’ll still catch plenty of attention.

Spyder Amour Jacket

spyder amour jacket
Why we love the Spyder Amour Jacket: Edgy styling in a two-piece look. If you like the idea of the Spyder Eternity Suit, but you prefer a jacket and pants, this is for you.

Toned-Down Prints for Snowboarders

These trim, long jackets are designed by snowboarders for snowboarders. But if you’re loving the subtle combinations in greens, khakis, blues and browns, there’s no reason for skiers to keep away.

686 Parklan Fortune Insulated Jacket

686 parklan fortune jacket
Why we love the 686 Parklan Fortune Jacket: Understated from the front, the two-tone maṇḍala design on the back sets it apart.

DC Riji Jacket

dc riji snowboard jacket
Why we love the DC Riji Jacket: Because sometimes camo shouldn’t come in pink.

Burton Mystic Jacket with Burton Vida Pant

burton mystic jacket and vida pant
Why we love the Burton Mystic Jacket with Vida Pant: A versatile black jacket paired with a deconstructed camo pattern that is surprisingly feminine.

DC Skyline Jacket

dc skyline snowboard jacket
Why we love the DC Skyline Jacket: Bursts of lightning? An explosion of down feathers? Or a microscopic view of cells? You tell us. While the pattern may keep you guessing, this pullover shell will serve you well in all conditions. Just add layers.

Faux Leather

Faux leather started showing up a few seasons ago, most notably in Spyder soft-shell ski pants. This season, the look expands from outerwear to layers that transition from skiing to socializing.

Snow Angel Minx Snuggle Sueded Vest (coming soon)

snow angel minx vest
Why we love the Snow Angel Minx Snuggle Sueded Vest: The asymmetrical zipper, paired with a fleecy collar, adds a touch of softness to a badass look.

Snow Angel Minx Snuggle Sueded Zip-T

snow angel minx snuggle sueded t
Why we love the Snow Angel Minx Snuggle Sueded Zip T: Because if a vest is good (see above), a shirt can be even better. We can hardly think of a time or place when this wouldn’t be fun to wear.

Volcom Battle Faux Leather Pant with Volcom Stave Jacket

volcom stave jacket
Why we love the Volcom Battle Faux Leather pant: Why not? If you like the look of leather, these basic black faux pants go with everything, including the Volcom Stave snowboard jacket.

And One 100% Improved Throwback

A little kid staple, the bib pant is back for women. “Overall” styling improves the entire look, while the design remains wholly functional.

Burton Avalon Bib Pant

burton avalon bib pants
Why we love the Burton Avalon Bib Pant: “Overall” styling flatters (and keeps snow out) and the double zip drop seat makes bio breaks easy.

Many thanks to Jacqueline Roman of WinterWomen.com for choosing these featured women’s winter styles. We’ll be back next week (October 3, 2016) for a look at the best of ski and ride fashion for kids from WinterKids.com.
