Are You a Brave Ski Mom? Or Do You Know One?

April 19, 2022 by braveskimom

“Hot” of the press and ready to come to you — a new batch of braveskimom.com stickers. ©braveskimom.com

As I wrote in one of my earliest posts (way back in 2010), all moms are brave. And, I truly believe that all parents are brave. As I wrote then,

“Living life with other people takes bravery (and compassion…tolerance…love…).  That said, ski moms are especially brave.  Ski moms start out as moms.  We give birth to our children, we bring them into our homes, we don’t take a formal vow as in a marriage, but we take mental vows that are almost as strong and solemn.  We are there for our children for better or worse and until death do us part.  We strive to nurture our children, to enrich their lives and to protect them. So what do we do?  We put them on skis the moment they can walk and push them down a hill.” — Why Brave, July 29, 2010

It’s been nearly 12 years, since I stood at the top of a figurative hill and decided — upon a dare from my teenage son — to begin writing braveskimom.com. You can read that very first post here.

Through the years, I have been blessed with meeting so many wonderful ski parents, both online and in person. What a wonderful community we are, even if we barely know one another. Thank you.

This season, I received many, many requests for free braveskimom.com stickers and I ran out. I am happy to say that as of today, I have more and I’m thrilled to give them away, sending them to moms, dads, friends, children, grandparents — whomever has a brave ski mom in their life.

If you’d like one or several, please email me. And, if you feel so moved, please send a photo for the BSM sticker gallery.

The community continues. Thank you.
