Announcing the Online Family Ski School

braveskimom logoToday is a really exciting day.

For today is the day that Alyssa Erickson of The Kid Project, Susan Strayer of Mountain Mom and Tots and I announce the Beta launch of the Online Family Ski School!

In September, Susan came to Alyssa and me proposing that we pool our experience and knowledge and craft an online course to help parents teach their children to ski. We’ve been hard at it ever since, working together to create this course.

Our goal was, and remains, to provide real-life information, practical tips and advice. We also crafted the course to provide something unique: a series of games that families can play together on snow. Skills are taught through play. And progress is made as families play together.

If you have children that you are currently, or hoping to, teach to ski, then this course is for you. If your family wants to spend more time together outdoors in winter, then this course is for you.

In fact, this course is for any parent who wants to have fun skiing with their kids. The only prerequisite is that the parent needs to have some skiing experience.

The Online Family Ski School

The Online Family Ski School currently includes nine self-paced lessons, starting with the clothing and gear you need, and ending with on-snow instruction for teaching the basics of skiing to your child, ages 2-10 years old.

Each lesson is built around a short instructional video. Bonus videos and informational PDFs build on the information and skills taught in the videos.

We are here to help you learn everything you need to move from your living room to the ski slopes.

With 35 years of combined experience skiing with our own children, we know that parents play a huge role in teaching their children to ski.

Our aim is not to replace professional ski instruction, but rather to help families have more fun and to make more progress when learning to ski.

Think of the Online Family Ski School as an instruction manual for parents, from parents.

Whether you plan on teaching your kids yourself, or plan on doing a combination of family ski days and ski school, the Online Family Ski School course is packed with tried and tested tips.

Wondering how to dress your child for cold weather? We’ve got answers.

Wanting to help your child stop and turn on skis? We can show you how to teach these skills.

All of this, with the ultimate goal of raising lifelong skiers.

Beta Launch Discount

Currently, we are launching a Beta Course at half-price.

While we are excited and confident about the quality of the material we’ve created, we also know there may be a few wrinkles. Thus, as a thank you for helping us smooth out these wrinkles before the official launch in the fall of 2018, we are pleased to offer you a significant savings.
