UPDATE FROM SOCHI: JAMIE IS GOLD! FEBRUARY 9, 2014!!
The Sochi Winter Olympics will begin in less than three months, and for the first time, Women’s Snowboard Slopestyle will be an event.
Last week, I had the opportunity to spend ten minutes chatting with Jamie Anderson, Slopestyle competitor and Olympic hopeful.
Jamie is partnering this winter with Nintendo and promoting their new Mario and Sonic at the Winter Olympic Games Sochi 2014 for Wii U.
Now, I am not much of a brave gamer mom, and I am terrible at Wii bike (I never stay on the road).
But Wii Ski, Wii Snowboard or Wii Luge at the Winter Olympics?
That sounds pretty fun, especially as the graphics are based on the actual Olympic venues in Russia. Cool!
Here’s my interview with Jamie.
In it, we talk about competing in the inaugural Olympics for her sport, the support of her very brave snowboarding mom, growing up riding at her home mountain, Sierra-At-Tahoe, California and her philosophy about jumping into life and enjoying every moment.
Jamie is a remarkable, poised and wise young woman. I’m so excited to cheer for her in February!
Thanks so much to Jamie Anderson for taking her time to talk with me! I appreciate getting to “know” you for a few minutes. Good luck!
And, thank you to Sierra-At-Tahoe Resort for the photos.
