Amazingly, we’re coming to the end of another ski season. It has been so fun sharing these Best Day Ever on Snow stories with you this winter.
Congratulations again to Abby and Millie, Kiley, Alex, Gracie, and Lola for having their stories chosen for publication.
Remember, we will soon be collecting stories for publication next season here at Braveskimom.com and in the 2nd Annual edition of Best Day on Snow Ever!
We can’t wait to see what you want to share! Thank you!
Ski Time is Play Time
By Lola S, Five Years Old, Sundance Mountain Resort, Utah
On my best ski day ever, we brought almost all my My Little Ponies and even Dash (my toy cat).
We skied until we got to the perfect spot to play. We didn’t get Dash out, we just got the My Little Ponies out.
Before we went skiing we rode the lift. When I was little I called the lift the big chair. We were just like looking down most of the time.
Outlaw and Stampede are my favorite runs. I like the other ones too but those are my favorites.
One time I actually skied on snow what was – what’s that kind of snow that’s really thick and you needed bigger skies as mine? Oh yeah. Powder. That day I used fairy wings and a hula hoop. The fairy wings were blue. Or maybe they were purple.
Lola’s Favorite Thing About Skiing
That I can ski on powder like fwwwwsh, but one time I got stuck in it. It was really dumb.
Powder is fun, but it can be tricky for little kids! When the snow is deep, try to choose slightly steeper terrain to keep up some forward momentum. And mom and dad, please ski behind your child to help her back up if she falls!
And Lola, falling and getting stuck in powder is not really dumb. Sometimes it just happens!

Ski with your child in front of you. It’s a Pro Tip that never fails. Skiing down the mountain to help is so much easier and faster than walking back up.

Lola’s Best Ski Tip for Kids
So spread your legs way far apart from each other to stop. To go you put your skis very close to each other. — Lola S.
Whether you call it “little feet and big feet,” “french fries and pizza,” or something else, it’s important for you beginner skiers to know how to move and stop!

Enjoy!
