All busy moms (and dads) need checklists. August is a busy month (name a month that isn’t??) at our house. Even though we are feeling bittersweet about going back to school, the air feels a bit cooler and we know that snow will fly before we know it.
Here is my August “to-do” list. Don’t worry, I won’t share all of it with you, but you can count on some skiing-related posts as I work through my chores. And, maybe it will remind you of a few things that you want to do too.
TO DO:
o Inventory ski clothing and equipment. Sell, hand-down or donate items that are too small. Check remaining end-of-season sales for needed items.
o Celebrate son’s 14th birthday
o Find school supply list. Get supplies. Schedule haircuts (sorry guys), doctor’s appointment and dentist appointments before going back to classes.
o Formulate the ski season plan of attack. Where are we skiing this year and where do we need passes? Purchase passes before the prices go up in September and October.
o Celebrate 20th wedding anniversary
o Check garden daily for fresh tomatoes, beans and other bounty
o Wax skis for storage now that summer ski camps are over
o Have a late summer/pre-school fling in the mountains at cabin or camping

20th!!! Shut the front door! When, pray tell?

20th? Really? You must have been a teen bride! Congratulations! No small feat in this day and age!
Working on our pre-school fling now! Hoping to camp, but not sure we’ll be able to coordinate it! Agh.. this summer has flown by faster than any other I remember. Is it just because my kids are getting older?
