What I LOVED About 2020 (#Move4Her)

June 14, 2021 by braveskimom

Please join Team Lynch Syndrome and #Move4Her on September 26!

You know what I LOVED about 2020? Participating in virtual runs, races, and fundraising events, like #Move4Her.

Not having to travel, but still being able to compete and raise money, was a highlight of my COVID-19 Pandemic Experience. This was because runs and races provided purpose, inspiration and community, even when we were locked down tight.

And while some of my favorite are back in person for 2021 (Boo to you, Bolder Boulder!), the event that is nearest and dearest to my heart, #MOVE4HER, is back in an expanded, even better virtual format!

And why wouldn’t it come back? Take a look at last year’s participation numbers: 799 participants from 48 states and 4 countries raised the most money — while moving and having fun — in the history of this event.

Friends from across Colorado joined Team Lynch Syndrome and Moved4Her last October!

You know what else is back? Team Lynch Syndrome! Recognizing the need to spread the word about the connection between gynecological cancers and genetic syndromes, such as Lynch Syndrome, 16 friends and family came together virtually last year, moving in Colorado, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, and Massachusetts. Together, we raised $2,200 for women’s cancer research.

This year, Team Lynch Syndrome is back and we’re hoping to equal, nay, better these numbers!

Why Join Team Lynch Syndrome and #MOVE4HER

  1. It’s fun! Exercising with friends and family is always a good time. Plus, it’s good for YOU!
  2. It’s flexible! Exercise pro Kathy Smith returns again this year to lead an online, choreographed one-hour exercise session. Last year’s sessions was both fun and impressive. But if you would rather get out on your own and move, you can do that do. It’s your choice! Or do it all!
  3. It’s a great cause! In the past 4 months, I’ve lost two friends to cancer. Research into women’s cancer can help avoid future tragedies such as these. That’s what our contributions support.
From Maryland, to Massachusetts, and back to Colorado, with many points in between, you choose how you want to move and where. The WHY is easy — to support research into women’s cancers. Thanks!

How to Join #Move4Her

Go to the Team Lynch Syndrome page and join our team and/or make a donation! If you join before July 1, the cost is $30 which includes and even better than ever goodie box!

Please let me know if you have any questions!

Thank you for your support!

Kristen
