Good morning and welcome to ski season 2024 – 2025! It’s a frosty day here in Colorado with rain and snow in the forecast and that makes us so happy!
Over the past eleven months, I’ve been pondering what to do this winter with braveskimom.com. For 14 years, braveskimom.com, with its emphasis on family skiing, has defined my life to greater and lesser degrees. And while we no longer have children in our home, I am not quite ready to let it go, especially as much of the content is still relevant and gets read a lot. But, I’ve also taken on some other writing gigs and my time is limited. I certainly don’t want to spend my skiing time at a computer.
1,007 Posts About Family Skiing and Much More
When I opened my dashboard this morning, I specifically looked for the number of posts hosted here at braveskimom.com. I figured it was around 900, but today’s post is number 1,007! That’s a lot of information about family skiing, skiing in general, skiing safety, skiing health, ski travel, and so much more. Not all of the posts are written by me. I’ve been privileged to work with many fantastic ski writers over the years, and they have graced this site with their eloquence and wisdom.
So here is the plan for this winter. I’m going to focus on sharing the evergreen content I already have. Most of these posts will be in their original form. If they need updates, you’ll see those in an “author’s note” or “editor’s note.” Some of them will be laughably out-of-date, but I hope you’ll laugh along with me as we take note of the how the ski and snowboard industry has evolved in nearly 1 1/2 decades.

Check Your Social Media
Social media has a lot of well-known cons, but also some significant pros. It is the most efficient way for me to share links to existing posts, ski industry news, fun facts, and updates. It’s also an easy way for you to comment and ask questions.
My goal is to post around five times a week on Facebook and Instagram. While Twitter was once the home of my largest following, after my mom died in June 2022 and I took a break from writing and posting, I was locked out of my Twitter account. I appealed, but Twitter didn’t care. Their loss (smile).
If you don’t want to be on social media, please visit this site and use the robust search function. You can find so much information just using some simple keywords — like family skiing, or Snowmass, or get in shape, and so on.
Also, let’s be interactive! If you’ve got specific questions, ask me! You can comment on here braveskimom.com or ask questions on Facebook or Instagram.
Get Excited!
I’m excited about the plan for this season. It allows me to reengage with you and to revisit some of my favorite topics with you. I hope the content will continue to be useful and help you and your family build a lifelong love for the best sport on the planet.
Enjoy!
