Even though my kids are well-grown (and way too tall!), this is one of my favorite posts of the year.
I adore sharing the latest ski fashion and snowboard fashion trends for kids.
As always, the wonderful team at WinterKids.com curated this post. Special thanks to Lynn for choosing among hundreds of adorable jackets for boys and girls.
Additional thanks to WinterKids.com and Obermeyer for hosting today’s giveaway.
This is just the first giveaway in an entire season of ski fashion giveaways from WinterKids.com and WinterWomen.com!
Ski Fashion 2017-2018 for Little Girls and Boys (Ages 2 – 8)
As always, the “littles” have the cutest, coziest, most huggable looks. But these well-made jackets aren’t just for show. All of these jackets have at least 10k waterproofing and a “grow” system that allows the bottom hem and cuffs to be extended when your child grows, giving the garment a longer life.
SKI JACKETS FOR LITTLE GIRLS
Obermeyer Crystal Jacket in It’s Snowing Roses: Sweet as can be, this is our giveaway item! This so-cute jacket has many of the same technical features found in Obermeyer’s adult ski jackets, including a powder skirt, pass pocket, EpicLoft insulation and a just-for-kids compass and mitten/glove clips. Read more below about today’s giveaway and be sure to enter!
Burton Minishred Aubrey Jacket in Paper Animals: Fashion forward, yet still kid-friendly. Leave it to Burton to bring a snowboarding sensibility to little girls’ outerwear, all while keeping it fun. Check out the cute forest friends hiding in the bright geometric pattern. Technical features abound and the faux fun hood trim adds a grown-up touch.
Roxy Mini Jetty Jacket in Neon Grapefruit Solargradient: No one combines athletic features and styling with feminine looks quite like Roxy. Here are two adorable choices for one smart jacket. Both jackets have technical features including removable helmet-compatible hoods, taped seams, powder skirt and pass pocket. Impressionist painting or cartoon critters? Let your little girl decide!
SKI JACKETS FOR LITTLE BOYS
Obermeyer Patrol Jacket in Polar Blue: Brights and neutral gray for boys who are serious about their skiing and riding. The Patrol Jacket is for boys who spend time in the cold. 15K waterproofing, sealed seams and extra insulation, along with a fleece back warmer, make this a smart choice for cold climates and conditions.
Ski Fashion 2017-2018 for Junior Girls and Boys (Ages 6 – 16)
Tweens and teens are demanding consumers, preferring on-trend and fashion-forward styling. This ski season, Junior Girl jackets are full of bright and fun prints that make a youthful, exuberant statement. For Junior Boys, there is an emphasis on darker colors and more mature styles.
SKI JACKETS FOR JUNIOR GIRLS
SKI JACKETS FOR JUNIOR BOYS
DC Cash Only Jacket in Black: A solid black jacket that pairs with print or contrasting color pants. Another snowboard jacket with a jacket-to-pants attachment feature. Pair this coat with DC pants and turn a two-piece outfit into a one-piece snowsuit. Longer length adds style and helps keep snow at bay.
Spyder Vail Jacket in Black/French Blue/Burst: A jacket for skiers, with Spyder’s trademark styling and use of color. Pit zips, a removable hood, fully taped seams and watertight zippers and 20K waterproofing (the highest available for kids) make this a serious jacket for serious fun.
Columbia Magic Mile Jacket in Peninsula Smokey Camo: OmniHeat lining helps trap body heat to make this good-looking jacket extra warm. Priced under $100, this jacket has all the features he’ll want, including an adjustable hood and cuffs, taped seams and a media pocket. It also has Columbia’s OUTGROWN Grow System, so the sleeves can be lengthened by 1.5″.
Under Armour Coldgear Infrared Wildwood 3-in-1 Jacket in Anthracite/Cruise Blue: A 3-in-1 jacket with a zip-out fleece liner that can be worn by itself. Available in black or red, this jacket has a heat-retaining lining and lots of versatility. Wear the inner and outer jackets together on coldest days. Zip the jacket apart and he has a lightweight fleece jacket and a water-repellent shell. The outer jacket has a magnetic zipper closure, making zipping up easy.
The North Face Reversible Mount Chimborazo Jacket in Cosmic Blue Chain Print: A versatile jacket for daily wear or spring skiing. A (slightly) puffy coat that is actually two jackets in one, flip this jacket inside out and find a cozy fleece. Made of recycled polyester, it’s environmentally friendly, too.

Thanks! With 3 boys, we still have my youngest in circa 2010, but I love the Spyder French Blue….I have to say I hate the “thug” colors on the other JR. Boys.
braveskimom says
Thank you! There’s an interesting divide among boys’ styles: ski jackets definitely tend to have brighter colors this season and more athletic styling. Snowboard jackets are longer and pack more attitude. I guess it all depends on the sport and the attitude! Cheers!
JFreiheit says
This is very helpful as we venture into the winter and need to purchase new gear. Thank you.

Agree! I’m not much for unisex T-shirts or ski clothes! Hope you enjoy the winter!
aprilsnogrl73 says

We could definitely use a new ski jacket! With 2 girls the same size (not twins but they’re literally the same height!), there are no hand me downs and outer wear is expensive! Love the looks curated here!!
braveskimom says
That’s a fun, but difficult, situation when it comes to doubling up on all of the gear! Good luck!
Karen Ung says
The Obermeyer Crystal Jacket and Burton ski jackets are our favorites!
braveskimom says
Thanks! And both brands offer so many solid features.
Emily B says
I *love* the snowing roses and grapefruit foxes little girls jackets, but I’m kind of wondering: what are the odds that I can wear the NF Mount Chimborazo jacket for myself? Because that is EXACTLY up my alley!
braveskimom says
Hmmm! Might be worth a try. The Mount Chimborazo jacket comes in sizes for teenage boys! Plus, you might want to check out the women’s equivalent on WinterWomen.com. I don’t see an exact match, but many of these coats are on sale!

As a dad I don’t normally like dressing my kids up in “cute” outfits. I make the acception with my twin girls. There is something about dressing one’s kids in matching clothes that is adorable. They like animals so I am sure they would like the Burton Paper Animals jacket.
braveskimom says
I so agree! My little boys, when they were little, were 2 years apart but loved dressing alike! They told people they were twins. Anyway, here’s to a fun, and adorable, winter!
Steph S says
I’d love to see more on carseat safe winter jackets that are compressable but warm
braveskimom says
That’s a good request! It’s been a while since my boys were in car seats…a very long while. What makes a winter jacket car seat safe? Thanks!

I LOVE the Burton MiniShred one piece suits. My kids have had every size, and we just outgrew the 5/6. I’m so bummed they don’t make them for bigger kids. I’d love the Roxy Jett set for my daughter. The colors are beautiful.
braveskimom says
Nice to hear about the MiniShred one piece suits! I think they’re adorable, but don’t have any first-hand experience! Cheers!
Mountain Mom says
So pretty! Do the Junior styles come in adult women sizes? 😉 I couldn’t agree more that dressing kids for winter weather is ESSENTIAL. If they happen to look amazing at the same time – bonus!
