I’ve always started our annual Junior Ski Helmet giveaway with a lot of reasons why wearing a ski helmet is important and necessary, for all skiers and snowboarders, of all ages.
Rather than repeat all that again (we certainly hope the message has gotten through!), here’s a rundown of past posts for you to peruse if you’d more information, data and anecdotes supporting why helmets are 100% recommended at all times.

Introducing the Wildhorn Spire Snow and Ski Helmet with Goggles
Yep, we’re talking a combo here, and not just a junior ski helmet and goggles combo for kids, but an extra-special, super-cute combo in which the goggles perfectly match the helmet.
Is being cute the most important attribute of our giveaway helmet and goggles? No, of course not, safety and quality are more important.
But cute and colorful can be important, too! Just take a closer look.
Thank you for appreciating their cuteness. Now here are the reasons why you can trust them to protect your child’s head and eyes.
Spire Helmet Safety Features
The Spire junior ski helmet is made for children ages 3-8 and uses the same in-mold construction as Wildhorn’s adult helmets. It is ASTM certified which means that it has passed all regulatory requirements for safety. There is an adjustable dial fit system to ensure the right fit, as well as interchangeable liners (one that is 3mm thick and one that is 5mm thick) to allow the helmet to grow with your child. And of course, the helmet has a fully adjustable, padded chin strap, and a rear strap to hold goggles safely in place.
Other features include integrated ventilation to draw air from front to back and help keep sweaty little heads dry and goggles clear.
Shilo Goggles Safety Features
Like the Spire Helmet, Wildhorn’s Shilo Goggles are made like adult goggles, but for little faces. Straps are fully adjustable for the right fit. Lenses are 100% UV protective with an anti-scratch, anti-fog coating. Lenses are designed for cloudy and sunny conditions and are semi-mirrored so that parents or instructors can see the child’s eyes.
What Our Testers Thought
I love this quote. When asked what he thought about the Spire Helmet and Shilo goggles, five year-old Fisher said, “I don’t like it, I don’t double like it, I 199 love it!”
That’s high praise, with his mom adding that both he and his sister especially like the bright orange color, while Fisher was especially taken with the chameleon (called a gecko by Wildhorn, but more on that below!).
Even higher praise comes from his mom, Briana, who is a ski patroller. Here’s what she said.
As a ski patroller and safety conscious mom, I appreciate the visibility of the orange color. Skier collision with kids is my biggest safety concern. I liked the smooth texture of the helmet and the eye-catching graphics.
The goggles and helmet fit well together. The Wildhorn goggles did not slip at all after we put them on. The two different thickness helmet liners are a good way to stretch the longevity of the helmet. The Spire helmet is also nice and lightweight. We love the fun color and functionality.
In addition to being a ski patroller, Briana is a former Park Ranger and Outdoor Education teacher. Her only complaint about the Spire helmet and Shilo goggles was the combination of chameleons (Africa, Europe, Asia), saguaro cacti (Sonoran Desert, Arizona) and Delicate Arch (Utah).
But as she adds, “I’m also someone who struggles with polar bears (Arctic) and penguins (Antarctic) on the same pajamas!”
Junior Helmet and Goggles Giveaway
Wildhorn Junior Helmet GiveawayTo facilitate this post and giveaway, I was provided with a Wildhorn Spire Snow and Junior Ski Helmet with Goggles (which were given to our product testers). My opinions are my own and are exactly what I would tell my family and friends.

Having kids of both genders I look for a color everyone will like (or equaly dislike). It can be frustrating when kids things come in either Pink w/unicorns or Blue w/trucks.

Such a great point! Thanks Tom!

We look for fit, fit, fit! We have twins but their heads could not be more different in size!

Nick Bell says
If the kids had their way, it’s all about the color. For me, it’s about the fit and making sure their goggles integrate and they don’t have a gap
braveskimom says
Yes, it can be really hard to avoid goggle gap with junior helmets and goggles. That’s why I like this integrated approach!
