All kids are born to play.
Some just don’t have the opportunity. And that’s not right.
Remembering Jack Pinto
Tomorrow marks the one year anniversary of the shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut. An unspeakable tragedy, it’s also nearly unfathomable that its been one year.
Jack Pinto was one of the shooting victims. An avid sports fan and participant, Jack loved every sport he tried.
“Jack was a sweet, loving and active six-year-old boy who enjoyed playing all kinds of sports, but most of all loved having fun and being with other kids,” said Jack’s parents, Dean and Tricia Pinto.
Bringing Good Back Into the World
Because sports were so important to their son, the Pinto’s have launched a national initiative with Kids in the Game, a charitable, nonprofit organization that provides financial assistance to under-served youth from low-income families who cannot afford the increasing costs of playing sports.
This new initiative, titled “Jack Pinto…Getting Kids in the Game” launched earlier this week. The base donation from the Pinto family will enable more than 400 children throughout the U.S. to enjoy the same opportunity to play sports that Jack had.
“The KIDS in the GAME team is doing incredible work and it felt natural for us to partner with them to honor Jack’s memory and his love of play through their organization.”
“It is our hope that others will consider giving in Jack’s honor to celebrate his love of sports and play, and help give underprivileged kids across this country an opportunity to enjoy team sports like he did,” share the Pintos.
Please Contribute
Although the Pinto family has generously established this initiative, their goal is to grow the fund with donations so that it can touch the lives of even more children.
They’ve provided a special video message to encourage support of the Jack Pinto…Getting Kids in the Game fund, which can be found here.
Please take a moment and watch it. Because all kids are born to play. And they all deserve an opportunity.
Thanks.

it’s a year ago but it will always be a terrible and huge loss for all the families of the children. Wishing them lots of strength for now and in the future.
