How Cold is Too Cold For Skiing? is one of the most popular posts at braveskimom.com, with good reason.
Skiing is a winter sport and there are days when the temperatures dip to crazy lows. Children are more susceptible to cold, which means parents need to pay attention, even when the sun is shining.
Yet, if you plan ahead and dress for cold weather success, you’ll be surprised how warm you and your children will be even when the thermometer dips well below freezing.
Just remember, sunnier days with no wind can often feel warmer than warmer days when it’s snowing and blowing. If you feel cold, go inside and warm up.
What to Wear Skiing When It’s Really Cold
This is a short video I put together after skiing last winter at Lake Louise, where the temperature started out one morning at -26° F or -32° C.
That’s cold. And yet, it really wasn’t, thanks to the clothing we were wearing.
The Harder You Ski, The Warmer You’ll Be

Enjoy!

Yes!! Great tips…no bad weather only bad clothes!! Another rule we follow is getting ahead of the cold because once it sets in it’s hard to warm up! We try to get the kids in before they start to complain! Thinking it’s time for me to invest in heated gloves though! This Mama’s hands get cold these days.

Yes! That’s a good one – don’t get cold in the first place! I find my hands get colder than anything else, too. Probably a bit of frostnip. Hope the heated gloves help!
