Yes, you are thinking, “We’ve already noticed. Something must be done about your obsession with skiing.” No, that is not the help I need. I need YOUR help!
Here’s the deal, the Brave Ski Mom cannot ski at every resort, in every state, in every country that has skiing. Not this year, not next year, not ever. There are simply too many fabulous places to ski in this world for one mom. I would need to win the lottery and discover Hermione Granger’s Time Turner under my bed in order for me to even come close. So, it is not going to happen.
This is where your help comes in. Beginning next Tuesday, from time-to-time, I will publish interviews with other ski parents that are reviews of ski resorts from a family perspective. I am asking my friends, family, friends of friends and perfect strangers who are willing to share their opinions, “If you could only ski at one resort with your family this winter, which resort would you pick?” This is followed by some easy questions that are meant to be helpful in representing the pros and cons of a resort to other parents. I can call you, meet you for coffee or email you the questions. Once you give me your answers, I will do the “heavy-lifting” of gathering additional information on the resort and adding website links. All I want from you are your honest opinions.
I need reviews of ski areas from any state and any country. All I ask is that it be a resort that you are truly familiar with and informed about; not the resort you dream of skiing someday.
Interested? Willing to share your thoughts with me and other Brave Ski Parents? Drop me a line in the comments on this page, call me at home, or find me on Facebook and we will make a plan for interviewing you.
Oh! And, one more thing…If you cross-country skiing is your family’s passion, I’d love to talk to you too. Hail skinny skis!
Thank you so much for your help with this. I am excited to hear from you. Cheers!

Hi Brave Ski Mom,
I’m a BSD…and actually I help run a ski school, here in Jxn Hole. I’d be happy to do an interview…

I love Telluride. Several factors make it unique:
1. Location. It is not only spectacular from the ground and the top of the mountain, but its remoteness makes it a joy to ski from a waiting point of view. I skied last year on Dec 27th and did not wait in a line. You will not find that at many resorts.
2. Hike to terrain. The recent expansions opens a huge amount of new hike-to terrain. I love the hikes because several days after a storm you can still find some fresh snow.
3. Lift 10. As a parent of a 2 and 4 year old lift ten is a long perfect place to take the kids to ski. Wide groomed blue and green runs with no expert skiers blazing through at breakneck speeds.
4. Nordic skiing. Top-of-ten and the valley floor have groomed skate skiing. You can Nordic ski and easily meet the family for lunch.
5. Free Ski in – Ski out parking in town and mountain village (for now)
6. Excellent ski school. Not just baby sitting.
Downsides.
– hard to get to for non-western slopers
– premium pricing (housing, food, passes). Telluride does not offer very good “regional” deals.
– No Starbucks

Thanks Joel! I appreciate your input! Thanks for reading. I don’t drink coffee, but I’ve heard the Steaming Bean coffee works as well as Starbucks! :0)

Hey Kristen,
We love Eldora (1) because it’s close to us, and (2) because we can put our kids in all day snowboard school while (3) we enjoy the well-groomed nordic center trails. It’s not too big and not too small. Plus, there’s a totally fun German restaurant in Nederland on the way home.
Call or email anytime if you want more details. Or you guys can come visit and we can all spend a day there!
